* The clutch, especially off the start line just seems woeful. There's a couple of gripes the same as most have. I'm impressed thats for sure, it runs really well and the physics/handling are pretty good and just like MXGP1 its very playable in first person view. Whether this will stand the test of time like reflex and or MCM2, i somewhat doubt it, but as of now its the best game on the market.įinally got this and downloaded last night on PC. Ive never been good at these games, but I do enjoy them. I'm just about to finished up my first career championship in the MX2 class and will see where online racing takes me after that. Its properly titled MXGP in this respect, its not trying to be anything else, and I think it does it damn well. There aren't any supercross tracks in the game (that I can tell) and I doubt it would feel right, the compound is the closest thing and its not great. Lastly, do not get this confused with a supercross game. The tracks are good, but at times feel un-finished. My biggest issues with the game are the bike models / physics, they are so stiff, they need more flex and pivoting. The deforming terrain works well, the tracks are technical, yet balanced. Scrub too late and you are just a spode doing a butt whip. The earlier you scrub, the better the result, though too early, and you crash. What really impressed me is the way scrubbing works. It lets u balance the rider, use the clutch, shift the bike, and scrub. It balances, as someone else said, a simulator and arcade feel. On the other hand it does everything very well. To say this is the best MX Game ever is a bit too far, it doesn't "change" the way motocross games have been made or break any molds. Oh and I rode / raced motocross for about 15 years. I have made tracks for games starting all the way back in MCM1, skinned in MCM2 and helped some guys push Reflex to its breaking point with Mods (bikes, skins, tracks etc. I have been around the motocross gaming, and general gaming, communities for a lot of years. Not that my opinion matters, but MXGP3 is a VERY good game. Its not perfect, but its definitely our best example of a great motocross game that has the whole package. So I have high hopes of modding MXGP3 into what we want it to be People are already modding mxgp2, as there is already an american riders pack for download that includes the top americans. BUT the community is what makes the game great. That came with absolutely no bikes, no gear. MX Simulator is considered one of the best and most realistic motocross games ever. ( I can't speak for MX vs ATV supercross)Īlso look at it this way. Up until recently, our best games didn't even have licensed bikes. it just feels more immersive than most examples so far from other devs.Īnd yes, I get the game isn't perfect, and if we want to pick it apart for not having updated gear and tracks arent perfect. But look what we have to compare it too. I just meant the whole atmosphere around the tracks. And I have to ride around in old gear from the last game. Also the fact that I can't put my last name on the back of the jersey, or change the font and size of the number on either the jersey or bike is unbelievebly lazy. I just can't get my head around why they have gone backwards and messed around and changed the tracks, which worked perfectly in the last game. I also think that the track deformation is really good, but at a place like Lommel or Valkenswaard it should do it more and faster than at a hardpack track.ĭon't get me wrong, I really enjoy this game and overall I think it's better than the last one. Then again like you mentioned, some tracks don't have these problems, like Saint Jean or Loket for example. Some jumps that are really big in real life are just average in the game, and so many jumps look more like mounds of dirt rather than jumps. In this one however I haven't found any jump that would have been challenging in any way even on a 250. I can still remember the feeling when I was able to nail some jumps for the first time in the last game, like the downhill triple and the quad after it at Matterley. The tracks were great in the last game, but they have really messed up some for this one, and it's just because of the jump scaling. I was about to write pretty much the same thing.
